Some of our stages have no lighting rig, no dancefloor, just open sky, old stone walls, and a crowd pressed against the barriers. That was the setting this summer at the Medieval Festival Oradea, one of Romania’s largest historical events, held around Oradea Fortress on the banks of the Crișul Repede river.
For two nights running, our six-performer fire team took the stage in Șanțul Cetății, the fortress moat. Fire poi, dragon staffs, hula hoops, fans, ropes, pixel pois and lot of pyros lit up the old walls. The crowd, many still in their own medieval costumes, packed the barriers three and four rows deep, both nights.
An international festival stage like this is a different kind of challenge. The audience is huge. The setting is centuries old. And the act has to hold its own after a full day of knights. It’s exactly what our Fire Show was built for: high-impact, weatherproof, equally at home headlining a full evening or closing out a packed festival programme.
We’re proud to have represented our art on this year’s lineup at the Medieval Festival Oradea. We’re already looking forward to next summer.
